goldenmoon > August 6 - WIND ENERGY! Driving on Highway 12 between I5 and I80, we passed these very active windmills. The wind was tremendous, but what really cought our attention was the size of these massive blades. I like this shot because of the cool clouds setting drama to the picture.

You will note the tiny trees on the left side of this shot, these are full size, 30 - 40 foot trees. Looking closer, you will see two palm trees, estimated to be about 30 feet tall with a barn building to the left of them.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what crop is growing in the foreground? we could not identify it, but it was growing everywhere!
goldenmoon > April 29 - We went to the Stockton CA Asparagus Festival today. These stilt walkers were in amazing and colorful costume!
goldenmoon > August 21 - BUMPER SHOCK! - Today I am posting two shots, both in honor of Andrea Kaus! These shots are from Saturday. While driving to a concert, Kristie and I stopped off in Copperopolis, CA where they were hosting a car show....there were some really neat cars and some even more amazing paint jobs, but what struck me the most was the chrome...maybe it was the perfectly bright day producing great reflections, maybe it was because I am a guy who simply likes bright shiny toys, but these are certainly my favorites!
goldenmoon > June 16 - Guess Who?
goldenmoon > November 11 - It has been a while since I last posted...today I was inspired to go shoot a vinyard not far from my home. I liked several of the shots this late season presented me with, but this is the favorite. Enjoy!
goldenmoon > August 18 - DIABETES, A DAILY FACT - This is a special picture to me...I am doing this one for my son. On July 6, 2006, my son, Aaron, was diagnosed with type one diabetes. With much to learn in 2006, we spent most of our free time learning what to do and when. This year, the learning continues.

Most people, me included, don't like needles, we do not want to have a shot or have blood drawn...at best its painful, at worst it may trigger a major phobia. Aaron has to test his blood glucose when he wakes up, again at lunch, at dinner and bedtime every day...on days when he is highly active (running in PE, swimming, playing ball) he has to test then as well to make sure he is not too low. He must take insulin (injections) with each meal and most snacks. This is Aaron's daily routine.

Aaron attended diabtes camp this summer, a wonderful program for kids with the disease. He has learned a tremendous amount about this condition, including some of the causes. In Aaron's situation, he has type one diabetes, this impacts about 5% of the people with "Diabetes". In the case of people with type one, there is no behavior that causes the disease, there is a trigger that causes your own immune system to attack your pancrease, preventing it from producing insulin naturally. No one knows what the trigger is, only that genetics (family history) can make you vulnerable.

This year, we will STEP OUT to FIGHT DIABETES, in a diabetes walk. If you are interested in learning more about diabetes or possibly in sponsoring us in our walk, please visit the link below.

goldenmoon > October 14 - Its been a crazy couple of weeks, so I have not had an opportunity to upload any shots lately, but I have been taking some! This image from last weekend's Pumpkin Festival in Manteca, CA shows a decent cross section of the crowds.

As you can see, the Great Dane was shedding :-))
goldenmoon > Japanese Garden, Portland, OR - April 7, 2007, Rain rain rain...it did not stop. But made for a rich green feel in this shot
