goldenmoon > June 15 - SWIMMING IN CLOVER - this shot was taken on a walk through of the redwoods in the Santa Cruz Mountains...the clover was everywhere and really beautiful, this oak leaf seemed to stand out, and I thought the contrast was nice.
goldenmoon > September 30 - Yosemite Bears!!! - My son and I went to Yosemite today in hunt of the elusive bears that we have heard about for years. Once, a few years ago, we saw a bear from a long distance. Well, today our wish was answered!

Within an hour of parking in the valley (Curry Village), we had our encounter. We spotted and then followed these two for about 45 minutes as they ate, browsed, and played. After they had their fill of grubs, they went to a thicket and laid down.

Aaron and I went to the village and had lunch and then returned to the same area where we had left the the two earlier. We were lucky enough to find them again as they browsed and crossed a river.

Sun and shade were harsh and the distance was significant (for safety). So of the 175 shots I took, Only a handful were acceptable, and of those, only a few were approaching good. I did learn one thing...ALWAYS USE A TRIPOD. All of my hand held shots failed to make the grade.

goldenmoon > July 26, 2007 - "HEY, Who took my spot?" Walking near Cannery Row in Monterey, CA. - EDIT -following ScuriurusNiger's thought process...it could also be, "Are you my mommy?"
goldenmoon > December 10 - While exploring around in Yosemite Valley, this guy decided to approach and see what we had to offer....nothing! He kept a reasonable distance as he stood in the nearly frozen meadow.

Earlier this year, a controlled burn took this grassy area down to nothing...the last time we were through here, the ground was still smoldering...the fresh shoots of grass had started to sprout before the frost took over last week.

Across the meadow, the grass is higher and still teaming with rodents. We watched another coyote hunt, catch, and gobble down a field mouse about an hour after this shot was taken...unfortunately, I did not get a usable shot of the action...next time :))
goldenmoon > July 16 - First attempt at selective coloring...not so bad, but WOW, time consuming!! - Totally inspired by Vandana, Thanks V!
goldenmoon > July 16 - Birds and Squirrels...and more birds. At Bird Rock along 17 Mile Drive near Pebble Beach. There were so many animals to shoot here, it was hard to pick just one, so I picked all of them haha
goldenmoon > March 23 - We visited San Francisco yesterday and stopped off at Treasure Island on the way back...searched around for several places to shoot the city lights and liked this one the best...thoughts?
goldenmoon > August 12 - CALIFORNIA LIVING - Palm Trees and Vinyards with blue skies...does it get any more California? I have seen these trees many times from the freeway, but had not taken the time to shoot them until today...not a bad setup!
goldenmoon > February 10 - Yosemite Coyote in Snow - We went to Yosemite to check out the recent snows....coul dnot pass up the chance to shoot yet another Coyote...I just think they look cool. Take care!
